Principal's Message

 

Dear Cheetah Families,

On behalf of the entire California Elementary School team, welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am excited and honored to be the Principal of such an amazing school that is committed to ensuring the success of every student.   

We are excited to provide many enriching opportunities this school year for our students. We will host an expanded Arts in Motion Visual and Performing Arts Program, Music, Coding and Robotics, and a Physical Education Program during the school day.  In addition, we will continue our 100 Mile Walking/Running program where students are walking or running miles as part of their physical education time with the goal of completing 100 miles within the school year. We also have welcomed our free after school child care program RAS to our school site. We continue to increase our school’s after school opportunities with Speech & Debate, Garden Club, GATE/Enrichment, and an Art Club.

In addition to our core academic curriculums, our students will continue to benefit from targeted digital lessons with iReady Reading and Math, Reflex Math, and 95% Core Phonics. During the summer, our teachers received training in our newly adopted science curriculum TWIG Science and  OpenSciEd. 

California Elementary is a great place to be! Our school has been recognized with the state of California’s Pivotal Practice Award and Best Elementary School Award from the U.S. News & World Report.  In addition, we were recognized as a National Showcase School with Capturing Kids' Hearts for the fifth year in a row! We share these honors with you in an effort to recognize our students, teachers, and staff for their dedication and hard work as well as an opportunity to thank our school community for their support.

I am truly excited for the 2023-2024 school year and I look forward to partnering with you in your child’s education.
